Rated among top hospitals in San Jose and high performing in Orthopedics
This year’s Best Hospitals, the 23rd annual edition, showcases more than 720 of the nation’s roughly 5,000 hospitals. Fewer than 150 are nationally ranked in at least one of 16 medical specialties. U.S. News created the Best Hospitals ranking system to identify hospitals exceptionally skilled in handling the most difficult cases, including delicate neurosurgeries.
“Our O’Connor employees and physicians are extremely committed to high quality care and this recognition is a tribute to their expertise,” said James F. Dover, O’Connor Hospital president and CEO. “This ranking, in addition to our recent patient safety recognition in Consumer Reports and our 2012 Gold Plus certification for Stroke Care, underscores our commitment to providing a positive patient experience each and every day.”
O’Connor Hospital is rated by The Joint Commission as a Center of Excellence for Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement. “We are very proud of our orthopedic team of surgeons, nurses, therapists and other specialists who constantly endeavor to provide the best outcomes for orthopedic and joint replacement patients,” said George Block, MD, chief medical officer for O’Connor Hospital.
The U.S. News & World Report rankings help patients and their families find superior hospitals in their regions and beyond. “All of these hospitals are the kinds of medical centers that should be on your list when you need the best care,” said Avery Comarow, U.S. News health rankings editor. “They are where other hospitals send the toughest cases.”
The 2012-13 rankings will appear in the U.S. News Best Hospitals 2013 guidebook, to go on sale in August. The complete rankings and methodology are available here.
